Decatur Book Festival Demo and Signing

Screen Shot 2014-08-29 at 1.01.34 PM

Tomorrow I’ll be at the Decatur Book Festival near Atlanta for a cooking demo and book signing. Excited to cook Chicken, Corn, Squash, and Poblano tacos from the summer squash chapter of The New Southern Table; it’s a Mexican-inspired take on summer squash so prolific on farms and in gardens all over right now. If you’re nearby and don’t have big Labor Day weekend plans (other than the festival itself), come by and say hello!

New Southern Table Events and Signings Update

Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 10.56.03 AMI’m back in Charleston after trips to Asheville, NC, where I signed books and served my butterbean hummus (which was consistently met with wows and moans, if I may say so), at the Mother Earth News Fair , and Atlanta, Ga, where I signed books and gave a brief talk at The Atlanta History Center, an amazing organization in Buckhead. This week I’m back in Charleston, and next Thursday, May 1 I’ll be talking about the book, and showing a slide show of food and travel shots at The Charleston Library Society’s Wide Angle Lunch Series. Get tickets here if you’re in the area. The talk is titled “Southern Staples in a Global Kitchen,” there willl be boxed lunches inspired by my book from Butcher and Bee, and I’ll be signing and selling books there, too. Stay tuned for more events!

Book Tour Update / Miami Herald Review

Screen Shot 2014-03-28 at 3.46.45 PMLast week was a whirlwind of a trip, from DC, to New York, back to DC, to Charlottesville,VA, and back to Charleston. It’s good to be home.

The trip was a lot of fun, and apart from having some great book signings and media events, I got to check out a few restaurants I’ve been wanting to try (or try again): In DC, Duke’s Grocery, Daikaya, Doi Moi, Bangkok Golden, and Izakaya Seki, and in New York, Ippudo, Lafayette, Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, and Gramercy Tavern.

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 29, I’ll be signing books at Southern Season in Mt. Pleasant, SC from 2 to 4 pm. The tour continues next week with an event at Oxford Exchange in Tampa, FL on Thursday, signings the following week in Charleston during the Festival of Houses and Gardens, and more throughout April.

Meanwhile, The New Southern Table is still available on Amazon, and poised for a second printing. The image above is a nice review in Wednesday’s Miami Herald. Please check back for details.

Amazon March Editor’s Pick / Book Tour Update

Screen Shot 2014-03-12 at 8.17.32 AMAfter multiple events and signings at the Charleston Wine and Food Festival last week, I was excited to learn this week that The New Souhern Table is an Amazon editor’s pick for March — and happy to be in the company of successful cookbook authors.

Meanwhile, this week, my book tour marches on to Washington, DC, with a book signing at Amanda McClements Martin’s beautiful shop Salt and Sundry in Union Market this coming Saturday, March 15 from 4 to 6 pm. Please come say hello if you’re in town!

From there I have media visits in DC and New York, and then will be at the Virginia Festival of the Book  in Charlottesville March 21. Please check back in for details on additional signings and events, sign up for updates below, and follow me on twitter @brysstephens.
